Care Reversible Heat Pumps
The all new Care 6000QC heat pump dispels many of the traditional concerns and criticisms levelled at the heat pump sector namely:
- Expensive – No, this 6kw unit is available from £1,495 including standard fitting and VAT
- Difficult installation – No, usual fitting time is just 2-3 hours from start to finish for a standard fitting.
- Misleading efficiency figures – No, by offering only direct space heating the ‘air to air’ heat pump is intrinsically efficient; output scales from 2:1 at -20 degrees C outside temperature to 4:1 output over more typical UK winter averages.
The Care 6000QC also offers other major benefits:
- Air conditioning function for summer use
- Comprehensive air filtration - high volume (350 cubic metres/hour) air cleaning continuously removes dust and allergens for a healthier environment.
Applications:
The Care 6000QC can work almost anywhere and displace or supplement existing heat sources.
In the UK, however, the most expensive form of heating is presently electrical radiant or convection radiators so prime applications might include for example:-
- Outbuildings or Garden offices with only electric space heating
- House extensions (e.g. conservatories or annexes) that may be difficult to heat in winter and may also require cooling in summer
- Any property using electric storage heaters for primary space heating
FAQ’s
What size of property can I heat?
Around 80 -150 square metres as a rough guide - depending on layout of the building and quality of insulation, etc.
Surely this is not ecologically sound as UK electricity comes mainly from inefficient and polluting coal, oil and gas power stations?
True, electricity does rate at 422 gms of CO² per KW of electricity produced but, even at the conservative output, the Care 6000QC effectively rates at 85 gms CO² per KW. This is very clean; gas is 194 gms CO² per KW and only burning wood (a renewable carbon fuel at 25 gms CO² per KW) is cleaner than the heat pump . . .
What can I do to source ‘greener’ electricity for my heat pump?
It may be your property has potential for photo voltaic roof mounted panels or (if you are not in an urban area) possibly a wind turbine. These can drive the heat pump directly or through a ‘grid tie’ (240v mains a.c.) linked system.
Alternatively, you could sign up to a green tariff electricity provider which guarantees your electricity comes from sustainable sources and also helps to nurture the growth in renewable energy production for the future.
What happens if my heat pump malfunctions?
The Care 6000QC comes with a 12 month standard guarantee and 48 month extended warranty. There is a nationwide helpline available and, if the fault cannot be fixed by remote diagnosis*, then the complete unit will be exchanged for new provided the fault has not arisen through negligence or improper use of the unit.
Where am I going to hide the ‘ugly box’ that is the heat pump?
Externally, each heat pump comes with an attractive and functional timber housing that is treated to resist the weather but can also be painted or stained to blend in to the surroundings as you wish. This timber housing is required if you buy our extended warranty to help protect the outside unit against the elements.
How do I know if I really am getting the promised efficiency and how well it is working?
You can do it the traditional way and compare ‘before and after’ bills or, to keep a closer eye on things, included in the 6000QC package you receive a Care Energy Pack which will give you instant readout of efficiency and electrical consumption as well as cumulative readings so that the performance can be monitored over the short and longer term for your peace of mind.
The use of this meter will also facilitate fault finding* when contacting the helpline call centre. |
